Mods for the cold season?
« on: February 12, 2015, 02:37:53 AM »
I'm really new to this, I just got my first e-bike last year and, since winter came, I simply didn't use it... But, it occurred to me, aren't there any mods or anything that can be installed? So I can safely use it during winter?

I ride in the winter. Usually after the streets have been cleared of snow but sometimes I have no choice. It's all about dressing warmly or you'll be very miserable.. The bike should run fine all year around. When you're on two wheels you can only do so much but here are some mods to consider...

dress warmly
ensure the battery is water proof
dual drive (if possible)
fat and notchy tires (deflated to less than 75%)
fenders (a must)
adjust seat so that both feet can reach the ground easily

How would it not be safe on winter without any mods?

I'm also new at this so I truly wonder why this would be an issue.
